For the second year in a row, Blue Marble has produced a series of marketing videos and TV spots for The Bellevue Collection, the luxury shopping destination of the Pacific Northwest. Working with their agency, The Voyager Group, the current projects were shot on location in a beautiful private home overlooking Seattle’s Puget Sound.

The campaign’s focus is on capturing a uniquely Pacific Northwest vibe and really connecting the audience to a very relaxed, yet elegant way of life. This 60-second marketing piece draws attention to the simple sophistication of everyday moments like planting a garden, relaxing on the back porch, hosting a party, or icing a cake. Every piece of furniture, article of clothing, dinnerware, rug, and vase was brought onto the set from the countless retail stores of The Bellevue Collection.

Ariba approached us recently with an exciting opportunity. They wanted us to create a video to enter in a nationwide contest sponsored by Salesforce.com. Particularly, they wanted us to create a character for this video that was iconic and could be used again in other projects. Many creative meetings and scribbled sketches later, we introduced Ariba to this guy (left), who acts as the video’s host and sports the company’s red, white, and black color scheme. They liked him so much, they named him Axel, and then had us create his twin “Moose”, who hosts Ariba’s Start Sourcing video. You can find Moose in the gallery.

And the Facebook connection? Ariba submitted the video into this year’s Dreamforce contest on Salesforce.com. During the first phase of competition, each video had to earn votes from the masses on a Facebook page. Not only was the Ariba video one of the highest vote-getters, it earned Ariba the opportunity to present its product offering live at Dreamforce, the foremost cloud computing industry event of the year. Over 80,000 people either attended Dreamforce in person or viewed the conference virtually online. Talk about exposure!

 

Yes, the CDC has a museum – a really good one! In fact, the David J. Sencer CDC Museum is a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate that enjoys national recognition. So, we were honored when Georgia-Pacific called on us to produce six films that would be showcased in an exhibit they were sponsoring at the museum, Watching Hands: Artists Respond to Keeping Well. Blue Marble crews traveled across the country, shooting interviews with each artist as they worked on their commissions. The video series recently won a Platinum Marcom Award.

Watching Hands: Artists Respond to Keeping Well showcases the new work of six artists who interpret the act of hand washing in innovative and unexpected ways. The exhibit, showing at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum in Atlanta, features posters by James Victore of Brooklyn, NY, whose work has shown at MoMA and has appeared twice on the cover of TIME Magazine. Other featured artists include John Bankston, Joe Peragine, Katherine L. Ross, Didi Dunphy, and Laura Splan.

The exhibit runs through January 2012. Admission is always free to the public.

Telling the Story of the CDC and Georgia-Pacific Partnership

In addition to the six artists videos, Blue Marble also produced a short documentary overview of the CDC exhibit project. The video includes scenes from opening day, interviews with CDC, GP executives, and attendees of the exhibit, as well as background on how the exhibit came to be. From the overview documentary, Blue Marble then created a six screen video wall for Georgia-Pacific to use at a major industry tradeshow.

Who says I.T. has to be lackluster? This animated show earned highest honors at the Videographer Awards for explaining in common business terms the countless benefits of using Manhattan’s supply chain solutions. Originally shown at Momentum 2011 as part of Manhattan COO Eddie Capel’s main presentation, the video has been so well received that it’s now being translated into other languages for use in sales presentations and online.

Bill Lewis was an accomplished CEO with an Ivy League education and double PhDs, who suddenly found his life spinning out of control. This is the story of Bill’s ultimate diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder and his successful battle to regain a normal life, with the unique approach offered by Skyland Trail, a non-profit mental health treatment facility for adults with serious mental illness.

Blue Marble created a series of six videos using live action and motion graphics to illustrate Verizon’s global reach and expertise in industries such as IT security, finance, retail, healthcare, and utilities. These videos, which took top honors at the Videographer Awards, appear on the Verizon Business website and are used in a variety of sales and marketing presentations.
